CAN-SPAM: myclipit.com Anti-Spam Policy
myclipit.com prepares and sends email marketing messages on behalf of our clients using methods we consider to be best practices. All recipients have "subscribed" to receive emails from the myclipit.com client the email will be from. All emails are approved by our in-house compliance department prior to submission. myclipit.com maintains and uses a company-wide opt-out list. All emails are cross checked against this list before we send them out. We do not allow clients to send questionable or offensive material.
The myclipit.com compliance department reserves the right to refuse a client's email list if we feel the client acquired the list in an unsuitable/illegal method. We reserve the right to periodically review our client's list and records, both written and electronic, to justify the opt in status of each email address.
The following are considered deceptive e-mail marketing practices. Under CAN-SPAM, the following we DO NOT do and is officially illegal:
Falsifying headers (the part of an e-mail message that specifies where it came from)
Using deceptive subject lines to trick people into opening messages
"Hijacking" other peoples' email accounts or computers to send spam
Creating e-mail or IP addresses specifically to send spam
Sending unsolicited email with sexual content
Sending e-mail to people who've requested to be removed from our or a client's list
Neglecting to include a physical mailing address in commercial email messages
The following are considered best practices:
We do not break any of the above rules
We use a footer in emails that allow recipients to opt out of future emails.
We keep a company wide DO NOT EMAIL list
We honor all requests NOT to use an email address
We use a "Closed-Loop Authentication" opt in method requiring the subscriber to confirm via an email message link for all records which we process on our servers and maintain.
In addition, we include a campaign / email address specific code (unique registered user id) in each email to aid in identification of DO NOT EMAIL (unsubscription) requests.
Visitor Requested Information (Quotes)
Visitors to the myclipit.com website can choose to request information from businesses in their area that offer specific products or services they are interested in. Any visitor (Registered or UnRegistered) can request contact from automotive dealerships, service centers and home improvement type businesses. The visitor provides their information such as name, full mailing address, email address, phone number and information specific to their request. Once the visitor submits this information, the myclipit.com website forwards their information to the business or businesses in their area requesting such sales leads. Once the visitors information is submitted to our client(s) for their use they are responsible for responsibly contacting the individual sales lead. myclipit.com takes every opportunity to help educate our clients by helping them understand what is and what is not acceptable ways of communicating with their prospects and/or clients.
Client Supplied Email Addresses
myclipit.com clients are permitted to supply email address and contact information for use with the myclipit.com system. Purchased or electronically harvested email addresses will not be accepted. Email address and contact information must have been obtained by their business patron and client must retain such proof if not provided physically to myclipit.com. Prior to emailing the contact with client messages, myclipit.com will send a welcome email requiring the recipient to respond by clicking on a link within the email opting into future email messages. Doing so will launch their internet browser and will be forwarded to the myclipit.com website. Their unique Registered User ID is passed to the server and their account is updated to reflect the date and time of their verification and their IP address. Having been verified by responding to the email verification, they are now available to be included in client-specific emails.
User Subscription Process
Visitors to the myclipit.com website have the option to Register for free and select businesses in their area they would like to receive special offers from in their email. Registered users can "Subscribe" to one or more businesses to receive future emails. While doing so online, the Registered User provides their personal information such as name, full mailing address and phone number. Their username is their email address and they provide a password which will be used to access their myclipit.com account. Once the Registered User submits their client-specific subscription request, a verification email is sent to the email address they provided (their username). The Registered User is required to verify their opt-in request by clicking on a link within the email. Doing so will launch their internet browser and will be forwarded to the myclipit.com website. Their unique Registered User ID is passed to the server and their client-specific subscription is updated to reflect the date and time of their verification and their IP address. Having been verified by responding to the email verification, they are now available to be included in client-specific emails. If or when the Registered User decides to Cancel (unsubscribe) the client-specific subscription record is flagged inactive and the date and time of the request is recorded. Although the client-specific subscription record is no longer used for email messaging, the record is kept on our server for reporting purposes for a minimum of 180 days. Registered Users may choose to cancel their free myclipit.com account at any time. Doing so will automatically cancel any and all client-specific subscriptions currently on file.
User Unsubscription Process
Recipients may choose one of four methods to unsubscribe from emails from a client:
Reply to the email message including "UNSUBSCRIBE" in subject line. Subscription is removed within 48 hours of receipt of this type of request.
Click on a link in the footer of the email message. Doing so will load their internet browser, connect to the myclipit.com website and cancel their subscription so they no longer receive emails from the myclipit.com client. This method removes the subscription immediately.
Write to our processing center using U.S. Mail including a copy of the email and a written request to me removed. Subscription is removed within 48 hours of receipt of this type of request. myclipit.com Subscription Processing, PO Box 202, Strasburg, VA 22657
Because only "Registered" users that have "Subscribed" to receive emails from a myclipit.com client, the recipient may choose to log into their myclipit.com account and unsubscribe to the specific business or cancel their account entirely. This method removes the subscription immediately.
Dealing with Recipient or ISP Complaints:
When a complaint is received the following
process is initiated:
Every complaint that is received is reviewed by myclipit.com management.
If the email address of the complainant is known, it will be immediately unsubscribed from the relevant customer list and they will be notified that their email address has been removed. If the complaint came via an ISP or other organization, they too will be notified of the action taken.
myclipit.com management will lock the list from further submissions until a review has been performed. Our compliance department will review the email's source with the customer and may terminate the customer's account if reason for termination is found. Termination could be necessary if the customer is not able to provide documentation that outlines the legal acquisition of the email address in question.
myclipit.com reserves the right to share the offending client's name and the fact that there have been complaints with any third party, including other providers of email marketing services.
